I thought I would end today quite smoothly... that was, until 3 PM. I was doing some data entries while reading fanfictions (it may sound like self defense, but you DO need some distractions after seeing those numbers all day), when I realized that there was someone standing behind me. Since my desk is near the public printer, it's not strange having people passing by my desk. But that time I felt strange because the person wouldn't move away, instead the person was like watching me. At first I thought it was the Department Head, then I turned my head and saw... THE OFFICE HEAD.
OH. EM. GEE. IT COULDN'T BE ANY BETTER.
Let's hope that he doesn't notice nor understand the word "kink" and "meme" - and better yet, "Phoenix Wright".
Thanks to that and the sudden SOP tutorial - which I thought was cancelled. But there waas changes in plan, I see - I left office a little late. What a coincidence that Ami SMSed me and ask me to go out that evening. Well, since I was already late to catch up with Mugrib time at home, I decided to go out with Ami and do the prayer at nearest mosque/mushalla. Nyeheh. Been a while since we went out. Right now I'm so sleepy, so I guess I'll end it for today.

I'm baaaaack!
As I mentioned in my previous entry about OJT, last week I went to Blitar for five days. Okay, let's see.. Blitar.. Blitar... what do we have here:
( rant rant rant )
Now here I am, at Surabaya. Tomorrow (to be exact, few hours from now) is election day. I'm hardly the one who cares so much about politics, but this time I'm completely BLANK. Count buttons, maybe? *but hey, the candidates and the parties waaay exceeds the buttons*

As a part of the training, next week we are going through on job training (OJT). From the look of it, it's generally similar with internship. At first I thought for OJT we would be sent back to our previous internship unit, means: i'm going home. But NO. My OJT is at Blitar, a city about two hours from Malang.
See, Mr. Training Committee, I really don't mind the OJT but please consider that WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY CENT OF OUR SALARY/WAITING FEE FOR THREE MONTHS before actually sending us out to another town for a whole week, which means we have to look for a hostel (again) because the OJT unit doesn't seem to provide that much. Well, I appreciate that you would manage our lunch and give us some allowance money *Tolong jangan bilang uang tunjangan OJT-nya dirapel*, and I'm definitely looking forward for you to keep your words.

Hey theeeere! ^^
Fwah, it's been a week since I went to training and let's say I have good news and bad news.
Good news:
- The food. Well, the department only provides lunch (means: breakfasts and dinners are on us), but they also add two coffee breaks in between. and the meals are so *%$@%$%$#@&%* that you feel bad not to eating them all. And guess where that leads if I'm not careful: my waist size. Nyahnyahnyah... now I get it why people at my precious internship office said that "training is time to get fat(ter)" XDD~
- I luv the air in Malang. Naturally, it's cold there. So I don't need any electric fan or air confitioner ^^
- Compared to jakarta, it's closer to Surabaya so it's easier for me to go home in weekends like this. However, I'm not planning to go home every weekend, considering my financial condition T____T and other stuff *of which I will write in "bad news" section*
Bad, bad news:
- OMG I know close to NOTHING about taxation and/or acconting terms!
- OMG the first evaluation is in a week!
- OMG why do I still here updating my journal instead?????

I should have spent my time studying the last bit before training, but instead I stumble upon this "French Monarch family tree" on wiki ^^;; Reading the dizzying family tree, somehow I imagine this conversation between Father-King and Mother-Queen:
Father-King: "Honey, don't you think it's about time for our children to get married?"
Mother-Queen: "Ah, you're right, Dear. Hmm.. how about marrying our eldest son to my brother's daughter?"
Father-King: "By your brother do you mean my brother in law? He's married to my sister, anyway. Well, yes, that'd be perfect. That reminds me. Then what do you think about our daughter with your brother's son?"
Mother-Queen: "I don't think so, Dear. Our daughter is too old for him."
Father-King: "Oh, I know. I think our daughter must be suited for My uncle's son."
Mother-Queen: "What??"
Father-King: "No, I mean my uncle's other son. You know, the one with his third wife. He's about the same age as our daughter."
Mother-Queen: "Your uncle's third wife as in my second cousin?"
That's simply scary LOL

Today is the last day of internship. Next monday will be the start of the training. Uwaaaah, so many things to learn! There will be pre-tests and post-tests and maybe assignments (hope not!). The training is for 2 months, so I will be at Malang until April. There isn't any official announcement for schedule, and much less bother me. Some says the training schedule is Monday-Satuday. Well, I hope it isn't, since it means I have less chance to go home as often as possible :P *Wahai uang saku, cepatlah turun. Lebih bagus lagi kalo SK-nya turun sekalian*
In relation to that, it means less time for internet. I have no internet connection there, and I haven't spotted internet cafe or some sort yet. Therefore, I apologize for the future lack of comments on my friends' entries - which apparently will be even lesser for the upcoming two months - and updates on this LJ beforehand.
Okay, so now.... ganbatte for me!
See you! ^^

(Especially) My fellow Indonesian manga readers, do you remember Pansy?
Generally, it's your typical Cinderella story - A monkey girl who was discovered by an animal researcher. Gotten herself educated, she learned that she was actually the heir of a noble family. With the help of her friends - especially this mysterious boy who lost his mysterious air after volume 2 - she overcame the obstacle, finally be with her prince and lived happily ever after.
Although I'm sure the current me will not put this series on my top list, but childhood memory beats everything so I pick it anyway XD~ Now that I've started to read the series again, I can't stop giggling because of the Loli-con-ness! XD~ Please, Pansy was only 10 years old! Well, the fact that Pansy acted a little too grown-up for her age doesn't bother me so much comparing to the fact that the boys are competing for her. *Well, not always, but there are.* Edo/Eduardo - the male lead character - was only seventeen. If there's any rival, it's Anam - also seventeen, Rivace - possibly around 19-21 years old, and Leon - twelve years old. *The latter two were introduced in second and third arc of the story* And to think that I really liked it back then LOL
Other than that, it's not bad. You might be a little distrubed with setting changes, since there are three arcs in the series, each of which complement the other to uncover the mystery regarding the truth of Pansy's birth. The first one is the longest, with its twists and turns that almost worried me that it'd become a robin hood/zoro-ish type of story. And the political intrigues are too shallow. It is truly a manga for viewing pleasure. If you'd like a light entertainment, this should suit you.
Concerning the scanlation itself, I'm really, really, curious as from where they got the raws. Somehow the print is quite familiar for me. Moreover, it's read from left to right. Pansy was released in Indonesia in the 90's, back then all manga are printed to be read from left to right. And if I remember correctly, the translation is somehow in line with the Indonesian version. You know, there are phrases that are somehow a little awkward in its English translations, and I recognize it actually is pretty much making sense in Bahasa Indonesia. Not that I mind, but if it's true I just find it to be funny: me, an Indonesian, is reading scanlation that is translated to English from my own language.
The last thing is the names. The name of the male lead, "Edo", is meant as shortened name from "Eduardo". But in Indonesian version, I noticed in latter volumes, it's not "Eduardo" but "Edoardo". Could it be originally meant to be "Edward"? If it's "Edward", then "Edo" would be "Ed" (and his father's name would be "Richard" and not "Ricardo") *I wonder if the translator was influenced by Latin drama boom during the 90's LOL* That makes sense. And I'm always curious with Pansy's noble name "Poretto". I mean, is it really meant to be "Poretto"? I've never heard such name before. But one thing that I like from the scanlation is that they finally spell "Traumerei" right! Indonesian version has it written as the katakana spelling, "toroimerai". XDD~

They give us a quiz. Oh, well. It's an e-learning system, so we must do the quiz online with multiple choice problems. Working on that is one thing, but the real problem is the internet connection. Well, Sir, when you are assigning online quiz, next time make sure you've tested it in real environment because darn it keeps displaying this "connection timed out" or such at random times and yet the timer keeps ticking! Great. And make sure that the server won't be overburdened since there's like 1200 people in total - while there's little possibility that all 1200 will access the site at the same time, with the tight deadline (last submission day is on Sunday) at least you can anticipate 30-50 connections at a time. Some may argue that it's due to local internet connection are slow, but I've tested it by accessing some websites other than the e-learning system and it works fine.
Fortunately, I went through that. But some of my friends are experiencing difficulties or even loss while the system is to blame. The grading system has its part in this as well. It's designed that we have maximum two attempts to answer the quiz (but it's okay if you only do it once), and the grade is calculated by average value. My friend is pretty sure she only did it once, but the system somehow count it as twice, so she gets lesser point since it's calculating the average of two attempts.
My, my.

Especially today, I arrived earlier at the office. Due to inauguration ceremony of the new provincial governor, the main road in front of Provincial House of Representatives building was closed. Oh, did I tell you my office is on that road too?
There was no official information, but we had heard that the closing would start at 7. Intending to avoid traffic jam/alteration, I decided to went half an hour earlier than usual so that I'd arrived before 7. But what did I get? My bus was passing Tugu Pahlawan (only one turn away from my office) when I realized the road has already been closed. Man, it wasn't even 6.45! So I went off the buss. I met this ladies who works at the same building (but we didn't know each other, since we work for different office/directoire). Okay, just take this as early morning walk before work. I don't mind the walk, but guess what I saw next?
THEY FRICKING OPENED THE ROAD!
First, they closed the road before 7.
Second, they opened it. (because the alternative route had become too crowded)
Then why did the close it from the beginning? Or they could just delay the closing time, or better CLOSE IT ON TIME, not beforehand.
Well, i just hope the performance of our new government worth all this.
Hear that, Pakdhe?

... I start to love post-it.
We have a rolling, so every week each person is assigned to different unit, and so on. In my current unit, I'm in charge of the neverending data entry. Despite of the fact that it's a menial task, gosh, looking at those numbers really eats your eyes out! Not to mention the boredom. Yep, boredom. Currently that's the biggest challenge here. But thanks to Mr. Play-J-Rocks'-Songs-All-The-Time (the band ,not the genre I would have hugged him if it's the genre.) whoforgotgave his post-its. Between boredoms, I start doodling on it XD~ nyeheh... Now, I proudly present.... teh proof of me slacking off

To think that I stick it over the cubicle ^^ *goes berserk*
... and did I just hear someone playing a jazz song with JAVANESE lyric? What is that again, "Setasiun Balapan", in jazz version???? XDD~ Honey, how I LUV them XDD~
Anyway, starting this 23rd I'm going through intensive training out of town (at Malang). The official release says that they DO NOT provide accomodation. Great. Now I need a room for two months training. And thanks to my tardinesshey, I had to take a proper photo for reporting! I'm almost late to get a room. In worst situation, I've asked one of my friend and she said she didn't mind to share the room with me (she's already with her friend. so if I join, it will be three of us). sigh... semangat!!!!

Allow me to say
\(^^)/ HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR! \(^^)/
Neh, finally get the chance to update this journal. It's been quite a hectic week ~__~;; Starting from Tuesday, the reporting day. That day I supposed to report to the unit office where I was going to undergo my internship period. Well, since the agenda said "reporting", I assumed that all we got to do was go there, submit some documents, and finish. It turned out that we were starting the internship THAT DAY! Well, the first day was only introduction to the office structure and functions, though. arrrgh! I thought we were starting the internship on February! I know it's only few days ahead, but still... I was hoping to laze around a bit before start working :p
About work, it's not that hard (yet). We'll have to go through trainings before we actually could do the field work. But we have strict working hours, from 7.30 a.m - 5 p.m. Means, I need to get up early *urgh!* It takes 1 - 1,5 hours from my house to office by public transportation. So you can say that there isn't much energy left when I got home. Therefore, even though I have internet conncetion at home, I hardly have time for it.
Okay, off with that. Last week at Jakarta, I went to a bookstore and found San Pek Eng Tay (commonly referred as Butterfly Lovers, Liang Zhu, or Liang Shanbo Yu Zhu Yingtai) and I began to have this thought...

MY INTERNSHIP IS IN SURABAYA!
I'M GOING HOOOOOOOOME~! *hugs hugs*
Today is my last day at the office. Exactly one year (plus a week) since I first came to work here. I guess I'm gonna miss them. It's not in every company you could mock your bosses (and their gadgets) and play Wii together. After being so used to informal culture in my current office, I guess I will need to accustom myself with more formal culture in my new place. VERY formal, indeed. *hiks.. I'm gonna miss wearing jeans at work* And I'm gonna miss my Otaku friends. Hikusu... no more free anime T__T and I better be careful in showing my fujoshi-ness there without any worries. In here, looks like it's been a "common secret" Graaah! Thanks to my friend. Ah *hugs the soon-to-be-ex-coworkers*
On the other hand, I remember that during my early months in Jakarta, I never thought that I actually can "make it this far" because I've never really been far from home for this long. *I know. It's only been a year.* Not to mention it's Jakarta. The Jakarta. Even now, I can't say I like Jakarta, but I'm pretty sure I'll miss it.
So, off with the melancholy! Here's another thing. Since I don't know whether I will have internet connection at my new office, I can't guarantee to update this LJ regularly. But I'll do it when I have time. Meanwhile, you can reach me on my Plurk, since Plurk is easier to access by mobile internet because its small size.

warning: Too much fangirling is not good for your health, especially when you need to get up early the next morning.
Okay, so last night I watch Primal Fear and Penelope.
The first one - Primal Fear - has been on my list for quite some time. It's quite difficult to find, since it's an old movie. My hope almost ceased, but thanks to
justangel, she told me there are some copies left oh how I luv DVD bajakan. And finally, I got it last Sunday! So, there I was last night, watching Primal Fear. Overall, it was.. okay? It's the typical courtroom story which I like. The lawyer who was after money at first, but later turned into justice seeker and such. But a suspect with MPD problem? Hmm.. interesting. To play a MPD role relying only on expression is rather challenging, because it depends only to the actor's ability to make audience know which personality is in control at a time.
( Primal Fear - did I just find Edward Norton to be MOE???? )
As for Penelope, I say this is a "sweet surprise". It was a random pick. I was in the mood for something light and romantic when I saw the cover and read "A fun, modern day fairy tale", I just bought it without thinking. Turns out to be very entertaining movie. A girl who got cursed (because of her ancestor's bad deed) to have a pig face until she found "someone of her kind" who loved her. Then there was this guy yadda yadda.. it's all predictable, except for the sweet little twist in the end. It says you don't need others to tell you that you belong to the world; what matters the most is that YOU know where you belong. I like that "sense of independence" ^^b Also, the colors and customes are all designed so as to have modern feel yet still fairy tale-ish. Lots of bright colors, epecially fo Penelope's clothes.
( Penelope - ooh... James Macavoy... THOSE EYES!!! )
Short weather news: been raining everyday now in Jakarta. My, I don't even turn the fan on but it's cold enough to get me cuddle up under the blanket ^^ I don't particularly dislike rain, only when it pours heavily before/after office hour ~__~;;

THOSE EYES!!! )
Short weather news: been raining everyday now in Jakarta. My, I don't even turn the fan on but it's cold enough to get me cuddle up under the blanket ^^ I don't particularly dislike rain, only when it pours heavily before/after office hour ~__~;;

Thanks to
jisatsu_riyuu who introduced me to Hetalia Axis Powers, now I'm addicted to it LOL
For those who haven't heard about this (or to lazy to read wiki :D), it's an interesting story where the author personified countries in the world (since the timeline is during WW 2, third world countries don't exist *hiks.. Indonesia..*. The main character is Italy (and Germany and Japan and countries in Allied Force).
I dunno why but I just luuuuuv Italy! XDD~ and it's NOT because he is described as a cutie chibi (chibitalia), but more to his personality. He's a useless person. Coward, childish, whiny, but naive and shares a great passion for art. Okay, it may sound like a typical, annoying heroine in some shoujo manga (could've been worse!), but I love the fact that by his uselessness he actually the one who "control" Germany. Germany got so busy saving Italy's ass (and the fact that Italy is Germany's only friend) make it looks sooo cute! (if not hilarious XD~)
Just a little notice for you, this contains small portion of shonen-ai hints. But it's a funny manga nonetheless XD~

This is the continuation of my "mangaka theme song" project ^^ Honestly, it's getting difficult but hey, who could resist the temptation of being a critic? ;D
Ookay, so here's part 2:
Ima Ichiko
Considered titles: Adult's Problem, B Grade Gourmet, warawanai ningyou, itoko doushi, hyakkiyakou shou, suna no ue rakuen, five box stories, gengetsurou kitan
song: High and Dry by Jamie Cullum
Although I admit that Ima Ichiko has distinctive style of her own, if you compare her with some more flashy artists like CLAMP or Yamane Ayano, her art falls into "decent" (if not "so-so") category. I think she does better with color artworks. Love scenes are drawn properly and not overly dramaticized. The intricasy lies heavily on story and characters development, both are done smoothly, sometimes rather implicit (even for her supranatural stories like hyakki and gengetsurou, she mostly doesn't stress on the action, but the mystery itself). It's the kind of manga that left me contemplating after reading it. Regarding my song choice, I often associate jazz music with something "mature"; more composed on one side yet not everyone can understand it. The song "High and Dry" is calming, but it feels sad somehow. Most of sensei's story needs better understanding and it's not something you could read by scamming through pages. Don't forget the angst.
Kisaragi Hirotaka
Considered titles: BLOOD+ City of The Nightwalker, Innocent Bird, Imaginary Lovers, uchi no tantei wa shirimasen ka, Keep Out, Specter, and other oneshots
song: Sylvia by Janne Da Arc
Oh, the love! It's so much fun to observe the evolution in sensei's drawing style. Well, let's just concentrate on sensei's current state. Art-wise, I say sensei has it all. The lines are firm and clean. I especially like that sensei manages to draw action scenes smoothly and not too rushed; not to mention sensei's attention on details and perspectives. I don't know, sometimes I even feel like having the old CLAMP back. Despite all that, the storyline is sweet (most of it), a little angsts here and there but still tolerable, opposing the masculine artwork. That's the reason I picked "Sylvia", which is a very catchy song, but indeed quite complex and rich musical arrangement. It's rare that you can optimize (the use of) the musical instruments (vocal, guitar, keyboard, bass, and drums) but still resulting easy-listening song.
...rumours have it that sensei is actually a male. It that true???
Mitsukazu Mihara
Considered titles: The Embalmer, R.I.P, Beautiful People, and other oneshots
song: Mameshiba by Sakamoto Maaya
Many has regarded Mitsukazu Mihara as "Queen of gothic lolita", but for me most Gothic of her work is kyuuketsuki to boku and Alice Underground. As for the rest, the sweetness lingers longer than the gothic feel in me, especially in The Embalmer. I'm not saying that it's not good, but those who expecting more twisted plot should think twice. In the song department, Mameshiba, although sweet, still "unexpected", with its twists and turns of melodies. With Mitsukazu-sensei, the "unexpected" goes for her initial story ideas (like angels, embalmer, and apocalypse) and - of course - costume designs. But in the end, they're still sweet.
Nishida Higashi
Considered titles: negai kanae tamae (Grant My Wish), mitsumeteitai, Light and Shadow
song: (still undecided)
Frankly, it's difficult to find the right song for this mangaka. How to say it, art-wise, sensei's works have likely 90% chance to be be skipped by most readers (especially those who look for visual excitement). Bulky men. Very simple lines and panels. Nothing special in the utmost sense of it. But if you've managed with that, you'll find a treasure inside. The plot is deep, emotionally touching, and not the usual yaoiland fairytale. I admire how it could achieve a "so-called happy ending", yet still have a strong grip on reality.
I'm thinking about something that isn't easy listening but has very deep emotions and sweetness, but neither rock/metal/emo. Any idea? You wouldn't be so cruel as to let me end up with Kangen band instead, right?
Shinri Fuwa
Considered titles: zettai unmei houtenshiki, tsumasaki ni kiss, Gravity Eyes, ohana to chocolate, and some oneshots
song: Utagai by Genki Dome / Someone Like Me by Atomic Kitten
Something that left you smiling. Excluding the character design, I guess nothing really special in Shinri Fuwa's works among many others. It's easy in the eyes, got many good looking guys around, and such. I mean, sensei doesn't do details and such, but the artwork is very decent and recognizable. Story-wise, I even consider some of her works are too sweet to the point that it's unbelievable - you know, the cheesy romantic kind of sweetness like in teenager's fantasy. But some other of her works really hook me up (ex: zettai, tsumasaki, and gravity eyes). Still bear the same sweetness but more down-to-earth and more realistic in conflicts. That's why I pick Utagai and/or Someone Like Me, since they are simple, sweet, cheesy romantic but stays in your head for quite a while.
And that's it for part 2! I apologize if any of you find me to be jugdemental. It's just personal opinion. You can read the first part here.

Uwaaa.. my first new year’s eve at Jakarta! XD~
Lucky me, Nop2 and Wenny invited me to their small barbeque party. The invitees are alumni of my university. Since some of my ex-uni couldn’t make it, it was 10 of us: all boys except for Nop2, Wenny, and me. It turned out that they did the same thing last year, with Mas Yus as the host. Well, I’m talking about being “host”, but actually it was held at Nop2 and Wenny’s hostel’s terrace :D We don’t even own the house :P Thanks to Mbak Ima (the housekeeper) who had helped us preparing stuff, and even cooked for us!
The barbeque lasted for approximately 3 hours. After that, we headed to the nearby road to watch fireworks! The truth is, while I was in Surabaya, I spend new years at home with my family, so I don’t really enjoy fireworks. But watching fireworks at night, with many people and especially fellow “immigrants” makes it so enjoyable, adding to it you’re not buying the fireworks *haha! Stingy mode ON* (Well, we finally bought fireworks of our own, but that was after new year’s bell) Anyway, the best part of being with your “fellow immigrants” is that you are allowed to act as cheesy as it can be. You don’t need to mind others think you’relebay exaggerating for “Ooh”-ing and “Aww”-ing like a child whenever watching a beautiful firework performance. XP

Nyah, back to Jakarta. Again, another trip home and back. I don't know why, but last holiday I really felt like being at home. Usually, I want to meet and go out with friends, doing catching up and stuff. But I didn't even bother to call Ami. Several "plans" are also left undone. Maybe I was gotten tired by the roadtrip (thanks to my cousin's engagement party), or maybe because I felt that my time in Surabaya was too short? You can say I only spent 2 days in Surabaya. Unlike last Iedul Fitri, when I got much spare time. Or maybe it’s due to my placement, which is still uncertain; so I want to spend as much time at home.
Despite that, I was totally lazing around. Sleeping like cow!*It must be the room. Obviously!* XD~ Lucky Mama didn't scold me - maybe because we don’t meet often, so the longing beats the irk :P
Not to mention the food. Didn’t I tell you there was this engagement party? Guess the best way to enjoy a party is by not being the party planner. Eating here, eating there. My, I MUST do something with my tummy!
So, I'm spending my new year's eve at Jakarta. Hmm, this is the first time I spend new year's eve away from home. Looking forward to it. Oh, and before I go:
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

When you were asked to submit your CV for the third time, you started wondering where all those papers go.
Okelah, yang rangkap 3 itu buat Pusat, yang satu buat Unit, terus ngapain juga Unit minta 1 lagi? Pake materai pula. Binun saiyah. But well, I'll follow this.
