Kyaaa, finally, the festival! The 3rd Yosakoi Festival took place at the city hall, and even though there weren't much people watching the festival, I considered it as a cool event. The contestants came from various institutions and various ages, such as universities, high school, junior high schools, elementray schools, nihongo courses, and others. The costumes, OMG, made me drooling along the show! There were 20 contestants, and I hardly tell which is which, so I'm only reviewing teams that much less impressing to me. (unfortunately, mBei couldn't make it to the fest, so nobody took pictures. Wonder, would ecchan mind if I ask some of hers?)


1. ITS WakuWaku Team
Shinsengumi in red. I luv the outfit. Red 'haori' with black pants (shaped so much like 'hakama') and red headband; with a slight touch of Maduranese on their undershirt XD I like the choreo also. The moves are dynamic and fast, sometimes they shout in unity. As a matter of fact, it's my Uni's team, although they weren't officially representing ITS, but more to ITS Language Centre. Even so, in my objective view, this is my fav team. Good job for your first time, guys!
I tried to ask Ami to borrow hers, but she promtply said 'NO WAY!' T___T Anik-sense~i…. Can I have the haori puhleeeese?

2. Persada Jawa Timur Team
Childish, that's the word. It's ecchan's team. I guess their outfit was based on kindergarten student uniform. ^^ Green and yellow in square motive pants and vest. Green and yellow ribbons tied on their 'naruko'. Their dance so much represented 'genki'ness and childishness. They won the best prize for the most high-spirited team *I swear that's the name* Good job, ecchan, and thx for the pics!

3. Brawijaya Uni Team
Army look. It's pretty simple; black tight top and army pants. Simple, but somehow they made it to look 'strong'. When I watch the dance, a words that came across my mind was 'tough'. It also reminded me of some scene in kung-fu movies of a martial art practice session of royal army *like, in Tai Chi Master opening scene* The cool thing is, once one of them who was in front row suddenly doing break dance! XD

4. Dr. Soetomo Uni Team
Or is it 17th August Uni Team? Well, sorry if I mention it wrong. I like their outfit. Kimono-cut top and black pants. They use satin for the kimono top but only until the upper arm, the rest use transparent layer. It's cool! They also put some transparent material on the lower part of their pants. In the team they were 4 different colors, which made the choreo more interesting.

5. Yasmin Team
Kukkuruuu! Here come the mighty cocks! Yeah, this year's theme is chicken! They wore chicken head, even the tail! No, no, don't laugh. They designed it so that it came out beautifully as a costume. One of mBei's friends is in the team, but I don't know which one. Sorry to say this, but there weren't much thing interesting in their dance. Good, that's all.


Uwaaa.. actually I want to write more about the other teams, for they had their own unique costumes and choreo, but I know you already kill me for writing this much. Someday I'll post the pic too ne!
